Turn the shoppers who leave into leads that come back.

Most people who visit a product page are not ready to buy today, and they leave without a trace. The TagDrop "Watch this price" button gives them a reason to leave their email instead. They get free price-drop alerts that bring them back to your listing. You get a verified lead, with contact permission the shopper chose to give.

What shoppers see on your page

A plain button under the price, plus one small script from TagDrop that reads the listing's public details (title, VIN or stock number, price) from the page. The script collects nothing about the visitor and sends nothing until the shopper clicks the button.

Clicking opens TagDrop's tracking page for that exact listing. The shopper enters an email, confirms it from their inbox, and only then does tracking begin.

How it works

The button is a small block of HTML pasted into your product or vehicle page template once. Everything else runs on TagDrop.

  1. A shopper clicks "Watch this price."They land on a TagDrop page showing that listing, with the price and vehicle or product identity read from your page.
  2. They enter and verify their email.Nothing is tracked and nothing is sent to you until the shopper confirms from their own inbox. This blocks fake and mistyped leads.
  3. They choose whether you may contact them.Alerts require only an email. Contact permission is a separate, unchecked box. If they check it, they can add a phone number for calls or texts.
  4. You receive the lead.Verified shopper, their chosen contact method, and the exact listing, emailed to your lead inbox. One lead per shopper per listing for each time they grant contact permission; repeat visits do not generate repeat leads.
  5. Your price changes bring them back. When TagDrop verifies a qualifying price drop on a watched listing (at least $50 below the price a watcher was last alerted at, and a new low for that watch), eligible watchers receive an email that links to your listing, not to a marketplace. Alerts are limited to once every three days per vehicle per watcher, so shoppers are never spammed.

Built for independent dealerships first

TagDrop is live on independent car dealership websites today. Vehicle pages are the ideal case: high-value purchases, shoppers who take weeks to decide, and prices that actually move. Each listing must carry a verifiable identity, such as a VIN or stock number, so TagDrop can confirm it is watching the right vehicle. Other product pages are supported subject to a compatibility check on your site.

Fast install where supportedOn carsforsale.com dealer sites the button has installed in about 15 minutes using the site editor's own custom-code block. Some site providers place custom code through their support team instead; we give you the request to forward.
Low maintenanceThe button stays in your page template, so new inventory picks it up. Improvements ship on TagDrop's side. If your website provider changes its page layout, we may need to re-verify compatibility.
Your leads onlyYou receive only shoppers who watched your listings and chose to be contacted. Nobody's watchlist or comparison history is shared, and leads are never sold to anyone.

What it costs

The pilot is free for 90 days: no card and no subscription commitment, and the button can be removed at any time. We do ask for a one-page written authorization to place the button on your site, which also names who can request its removal. After the pilot, if the results justify it, TagDrop is a flat monthly subscription set together with you using your own pilot numbers. Pricing is never per lead, so there is no incentive to send you junk.

Results so far. TagDrop is currently live at three independent dealerships in the St. Louis area, with the first 90-day pilot results due in late 2026. We publish what the numbers say when we have them; we do not publish projections.

Where the button installs

carsforsale.com dealer sites

Paste the block into the vehicle detail page template with the editor's "Code Your Own" element. This is the proven path; most standard templates render it on the first try.

DealerCenter and other providers

Some website providers place custom code through their support team rather than a self-serve editor. We give you a one-page request you can forward to them.

Other sites with template access

Sites where a product page template accepts HTML can usually place the same block. Because TagDrop must verify each listing's identity from the page, we run a compatibility check on your site before the button goes live.

What we do and do not do

We do not touch your systems

No DMS access, no CRM access, no access to your existing customer records. We read your public listing pages to check for price changes. TagDrop stores the shopper's email for tracking even when they do not request dealer contact. We share their contact details with you only when they explicitly agree to be contacted about your listing.

We do not sell leads or data

Every shopper gives TagDrop an email to receive alerts; TagDrop stores that for tracking and does not share it. Only when a shopper separately grants contact permission does TagDrop send their details to the one merchant they named. That is the whole data flow.

We do not overpromise

If a listing cannot be verified, TagDrop holds rather than guessing. Shoppers and dealers both see honest status, never stale prices dressed up as fresh.
