Your AI does the shopping. TagDrop keeps the receipts.
AI assistants are starting to compare products and prices on people's behalf. That raises a fair question: how do you know yours found you the best deal, and not the one somebody paid it to find? TagDrop is a third party that keeps a record you can open anytime.
What a record looks like
- TrackedMar 3, from a dealer listing
- ListingExample SUV, example dealer
- Price when tracked$21,500
- Price drop alert sentMar 18 · $20,900
- Listing statusSold, Mar 24
- Visible toYou, in your own account
Fictional illustration, not a real vehicle or customer. Today the record shows what was tracked, when, at what price, and what changed; it does not yet record which assistant added an item (see "How to use it today").
What the record proves, and what it does not
TagDrop provides evidence, not certification. Here is exactly where the line sits, so you can rely on the record for what it is.
It does show
- Which products were added to your watchlist, and when
- The price each listing showed at that moment, as TagDrop observed it independently
- How each price moved afterward, with dates
- Whether the listing sold, went out of stock, or came back
- A history you own, in your account, not in the assistant's memory
It does not show
- Every option the assistant considered but chose not to track
- Why the assistant preferred one product over another
- Whether the assistant was honest, complete, or paid by anyone
- Prices shown to you personally on a site TagDrop cannot read
Why a third party matters
An assistant grading its own homework is not evidence. Neither is a store's price history of its own products. TagDrop is neither.
We run no assistant
TagDrop does not shop for you and does not compete with the assistants that do. We are neutral among them.
We sell no products
There is nothing TagDrop is trying to get you to buy. Our only job is to watch prices you asked us to watch and tell you the truth about them.
We read prices with no profile
TagDrop checks listings without your cookies, history, or login. What we record is the price shown to nobody in particular: a reference point, not a personalized offer.
How to use it today
No special integration is required. The record is built from ordinary tracking, which works right now.
- Ask your assistant for candidates, then track the ones worth watching by sharing each link to TagDrop from your phone or pasting it into the web app.
- On participating merchant sites, use the "Watch this price" button. An assistant that can fill a form may help set up tracking with your email, but you confirm from your own inbox before anything is tracked, and contact permission for the merchant stays off unless you turn it on.
- Open your watchlist anytime in the TagDrop app or web dashboard to see what was tracked, at what price, and what has changed since.
Direct assistant integrations, where your assistant records provenance on each tracked item automatically, are in development. When they ship, the record will note which assistant added an item. Until then the record shows what was tracked, without attribution.
Keep your own receipts
TagDrop is free to start on iOS, Android, and the web. Tracking items from participating merchants is always free.
